首屆在歐洲舉行的美洲盃 .... 第32屆美洲盃
是世界上最悠久的運動賽事
承辦的ACM公司[America's Cup Management]在過去四年內
成功地在全世界行銷美洲盃
美洲盃不只現身下列四個賽場外
西班牙Valencia,法國馬賽,瑞典Malmo-Skane,義大利Trapani
更跑遍包含北京等18個世界大都市做宣傳
除讓世人更容易親近美洲盃
也讓更多贊助商踴躍投入贊助的行列
創下6百40萬人前往四個比賽場地觀賽
並有40億人口收看電視轉播的紀錄
文後並列舉本屆美洲盃所創下的紀錄
本屆衛冕成功的瑞士隊所代表的日內瓦遊艇會
以及正式下挑戰書的西班牙遊艇會
在今天(2007/7/4)共同宣布了第33屆美洲盃的規格[Protocol].....官網新聞
雖然下屆美洲盃主場地尚未敲定
西班牙Valencia極有可能再度出線
下屆美洲盃最早會在2009年開始
包含確認參賽資格的賽前賽[pre-regattas]
與主要的美洲盃三步曲
1) 預賽[Trials]
2) 挑戰隊挑選賽[Challenger Selection]
3) 美洲盃對抗賽[America's Cup Match]
承辦本屆比賽有聲有色的ACM公司[America's Cup Management]
被日內瓦遊艇會繼續指定來承辦下屆比賽
本屆比賽最大的改變
就是開始採用全新級別的賽船
長度90呎且需要20位隊員來操作的新賽船
不僅更長更刺激還更難駕馭
當然速度也將更快
對所有的參賽隊伍而言
無論過去有無參賽都是個全新的開始
主場,比賽時程跟新賽船級別規定將在今年年底敲定
不過由於新級別賽船將在規定頒佈後
從設計製造到下水需要18個月
屆時將由舊的ACC級[America's Cup Class]賽船
作為賽前賽的指定用船
